March Madness with Some Sanity

Each March, the media is predictably interested in talking about whether the NCAA Tournament is responsible for lost productivity and absenteeism due to game watching or gambling.

For some offices, the benefit fars outweighs the cost. People in my office that rarely interact have the opportunity for playful, stress-reducing dialogue as they compare notes on the teams they feel are primed to win.

As for me, I love watching the games, trying to pick the upsets and rooting hard that my Wildcats came pull off a couple wins before reality catches up to them. Productivity has no better driver than passion, so I'll keep rooting even if games are during the work week.
